AI mankinds last technological invention. Will AI be mankind’s last technological invention? A hundred years ago 90% of human labor was centered around agriculture. Today, that number is around 2%. Today about 88% of the labor force are in technology fields in one way or another. We are looking down the path of our own, self created obsolescence. Humans, if we are to survive will have to shift to do something else. The question remains, shift to do what, and to what purpose would we, at that point serve. The fate of the lab rat or the chimpanzee is outside of their control and only dependent on what we see fit for them after they’ve out lived their usefulness. Once AGI achieves super intelligence at the point of singularity, the fate of humanity may depend on what the AGI super intelligence does or decides. AI mankinds last technological invention.
